BETTYS - AN ICONIC YORKSHIRE BRAND

I have worked with Bettys since 2017 on some wonderful commissions to develop their brand photography across their Yorkshire tearooms, retail shops and cookery school.  I have also been privileged to photograph at The Craft Bakery in Harrogate to document production proceses and tell the story of the people behind the much loved cakes and bakery items. 

As a business with 7 day opening the photography briefs have demanded efficient working on location.  I've loved rising to this challenge with quick thinking and problem solving.  For the lifestyle people scenarios my documentary approach has been crucial to nailing the brief allowing me to capture very natural moments and cameos.  For these fast paced shoots I worked with minimal equipment which I feel can be overly time-consuming and a barrier to this kind of commission.   The location shoots have also required direction roles to coordinate models and stylists.  I've also worked on many pure food shoots with the team to capture seasonal menus on location at the Harrogate tearoom.

The images have been used by Bettys across their website, social media, catalogues and wider marketing.  Images have also been used editorially including a profile feature in Waitrose Food magazine.
