THE CONISTON HOTEL & SPA - BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY ACROSS THE SEASONS

Seasons play an important role in hotel marketing and so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to work with The Coniston Hotel across a full year to build an indepth portfolio of images across 4 separate shoots.  The Coniston Estate is situated near Skipton in North Yorkshire and alongside the main hotel features an award winning Spa, self catering cottages and different options for rural activities including off-road driving, shooting and fishing.  It is set in glorious Yorkshire countryside with a stunning Lake at it's heart. 

Each shoot lasted 2-3 days to ensure coverage of all of the different aspects of the estate.  I worked to a busy schedule and an adaptable and quick problem solving approach was essential as we worked across varied environments.  For example, coverage of off-road driving out on the Estate and then switching into the dark and ambient light of the Spa treatment rooms.  The hotel features 3 dining options which required different styles and looks to showcase the ambience offered by each.  For example fresh and wholesome in the Spa brasserie compared to classic fine dining in the 2 AA Rosette restaurant.  As with the Estate landscape photography, the food brief was an opportunity to capture seasonality through the menus through the year.  Some of the days involved working with models to bring a lifestyle element to the photography.  This was particularly key for the Spa and rural pursuits photography.

The images have been used for website, social media, promotional banners, marketing literature, advertising and editorial features.  I always love building a long term relationship with clients as it allows me to develop a deeper understanding of the needs of the brand.  This leads to really efficient working and helps the team to feel engaged in the creative process.
